Narendar Yasa: How to Become a Pharmacist

Narendar Yasa

Narendar Yasa is a successful pharmacist working in New Jersey. “I have completed my bachelors of pharmacy degree from Bangalor University in 1994, and then became a New Jersey certified pharmacist in 2000.”

Narendar Yasa has since worked in many local pharmacies in his current town of Edison, and now is the head pharmacist at Colton’s Pharmacy. If you are interested in becoming a pharmacist, here are the steps you can take to pursue this career.

  • After graduating from high school, enroll in a pharmacy degree course. There are a few different types of these courses. Some are undergraduate courses that feed into graduate and doctoral programs for pharmacy, while others are combined courses that can be completed in a much shorter time frame.
  • Get your pharmacist’s license. In order to do this, you must have graduated from an accredited pharmacy program. You’ll then need to study for the exam and pass the exam series, which is completed in three parts in the United States.
  • Complete an optional residency program if you desire more education. These usually last one to two years and prepare you for work in the field as a pharmacist. You’ll also need to take continuing education courses every so often to maintain your license.
  • Look for jobs in your specific concentration of pharmacy education. Eventually, you can work your way up to a leading position.

Although pharmacy can be a very difficult career, Narendar Yasa enjoys the work and helping others.
